How much does a pooper scooper service cost around Pensacola? Using our own posted prices as the example: weekly service for one dog is $79 a month, which works out to about $18 a visit. Every other week starts at $59 a month and twice a week starts at $139 a month. A one time cleanup starts at $89. Below is what moves a price up or down, the per visit math, and the first cleanup fees that catch people off guard, so you can compare any quote you get, ours included.
What drives the price of dog poop pickup
Four things decide most quotes, no matter who you call.
- Number of dogs. More dogs means more piles and more time in the yard. Our plans step up for a second and third dog, and we quote 4 or more dogs by text.
- How often someone comes. More visits cost more per month but less per visit, because each visit has less to pick up.
- How far behind the yard is. A yard that hasn't been scooped in weeks takes far longer the first time. Most services charge something extra for that first visit.
- What's included. Hauling the waste away, disinfecting tools between yards, and a photo of your latched gate all take time. Two quotes that look different may not cover the same work.
Our prices are the same in every area we serve, from Cantonment to Perdido Key, and they're month to month with no contract.
Our monthly prices as a worked example
| Plan | 1 dog | 2 dogs | 3 dogs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Every other week | $59 | $69 | $79 |
| Weekly | $79 | $95 | $109 |
| Twice a week | $139 | $159 | $175 |

The per visit math
A month averages about 4.33 weeks, so a weekly plan is about 4.33 visits. Divide the monthly price by the visits and you get the real cost of each trip:
- Weekly, 1 dog: $79 divided by 4.33 is about $18 a visit.
- Every other week, 1 dog: $59 divided by about 2.17 visits is roughly $27 a visit.
- Twice a week, 1 dog: $139 divided by about 8.67 visits is roughly $16 a visit.
So the cheapest monthly bill is not the cheapest visit. Every other week saves money each month, but each visit covers two weeks of piles. In a Gulf Coast summer that gap matters: University of Florida entomologists note that house flies, which breed in animal feces, can complete their life cycle in as little as seven to ten days in warm weather. That's one reason many dog owners here land on weekly, and why we explain the tradeoffs in how often you should pick up dog poop.
First cleanup fees, explained
This is the line item people forget to ask about.
- New weekly, every other week, or twice a week customers: if your yard has 2 or more weeks of buildup, a one time $40 initial cleanup is added to your first invoice. After that, it's just the monthly price.
- One time cleanup (no subscription): $89 if the yard was scooped within the last 2 weeks, or $129 if it's been 2 weeks or longer, plus $15 for each additional dog. A two dog yard that hasn't been touched in a month would be $129 plus $15.
One time cleanups are popular before a party, a move, a home sale, or a vacation rental turnover. Details are on our one time cleanup page.
How to compare quotes fairly
Prices vary by company, so line up quotes on the same terms. Ask each service:
- What's the price per month and roughly how many visits does that include?
- Is there a first cleanup or startup fee, and what counts as "behind"?
- How much for each additional dog?
- Is there a contract or a cancellation fee?
- Do you haul the waste away, or leave it in my bin?
- Do you disinfect tools between yards?
- How will I know you came and closed the gate?
For reference, every Bayou Scoop Co. visit includes every pile scooped and double bagged, waste hauled away or placed in your bin (your choice), tools disinfected before we enter your yard, your gate closed and latched with a photo texted when we're done, and a free deodorizing spot treatment on request.
If you're still deciding whether to pay anyone at all, we wrote an honest take on whether a pooper scooper service is worth it, and a step by step look at what happens during a visit. The CDC's advice is simple either way: dog poop should be picked up, even in your own yard, and especially where children play.
